One sunny morning Uchiha Sasuke was getting ready for the day's mission, which would begin at half past eleven. It was eight o'clock now, not long to go. Sasuke licked his lips. All night he had been dreaming about his last apple; that juicy red apple which he had decided to eat for breakfast. He hurried over to the fruit bowl to find his precious apple was not there. All around Konoha on sound could be heard.
"Noooooo!"
Sasuke spent half an hour looking around his house for the apple, but it was no where to be seen.
"Well, if it's not here," Sasuke said to himself "Someone must have stolen it!" He ran out of his house and looked up and down the street.
"What a fool, to steal from an Uchiha," Sasuke murmured to himself as he headed off to Naruto's home. I bet it was that baka! He thought as he remembered the fox-kid's previous pranks. BANG!
As Sasuke turned the corner he found himself flat on the floor, Naruto on top of him and Kiba laughing.
"Naruto, you baka! Get off me!" Sasuke yelled.
"Hey! You should watch where you're going!" Naruto roared back. Naruto pushed himself up but remained on top of Sasuke.
"Naruto, get off me now!" Kiba was still laughing. Naruto glared at Kiba and got up off Sasuke.
"Hey, Sasuke, where were you rushing off to anyway?" Naruto asked.
"To your house. Someone stole my apple, I had a feeling it was you."
"Always me isn't it Sasuke? Well, I have nothing to do with your stupid apple, believe it!"
"Ok," Sasuke looked at a nearby clock "damn, nine o'clock?"
"Yeah, our mission starts in two and a half hours!" Naruto grinned. Sasuke clenched his teeth.
"Naruto! I need your help!"
"Why? To find this apple? Buy another."
"Grrr… Naruto! Oh, you know what? Forget it!"
Sasuke turned around and began running towards Sakura's house. She'll help me, he thought. When he reached her house gate he stopped; Ino was at the front door. If I go down there Ino will grab me and not leave my side. He hid behind a bush, waiting for Sakura to open her door and send Ino away. However, when Sakura opened the door, she let Ino inside. As Sasuke watched he could see he wouldn't be able to knock on her door and get away from Ino. Just great!
As Sasuke walked away he clapped his hands together and a smile appeared on his face.
"Neji!" Sasuke ran to the Hyuuga house and was just in time to see Neji come out of it.
"Neji! I've lost my apple! Please use Byakugan to find it!"
"Sasuke, it is fate you lost the apple…"
"And it is fate you will find it!" Neji sighed. BYAKUGAN!
"Oh, Sasuke. I see many apples. All on sale. None that could be yours there. Someone may have eaten it already if they stole it you know."
"Oh, thanks Neji." With a heavy heart Sasuke began to walk home. He had no other idea that could find his apple.
It was now ten past ten. One hour, twenty minutes. The clock's forever ticking. He was wrapped up in his own thoughts he did not notice Tenten standing in front of him. BUMP!
"Ah, Sasuke!"
"Sorry," he mumbled and began walking away.
"Wait! Is something wrong?"
"I'm looking for something that's all."
"Well, good luck. Oh, I saw Kakashi-sensei head over to your house." Sasuke nodded and walked to his home. When he entered the house he found Kakashi in his kitchen.
"No way! That's my apple!"
I'm sorry Sasuke, I was hungry," Kakashi explained.
"That was my last apple I've been searching for!"
"It was lost? I found it in the fruit bowl under the bananas," Sasuke stared at him in disbelief "If you rush around too much Sasuke, you miss what you want the most." Kakashi reached into his pocket and pulled out a green apple, and threw it to Sasuke who caught it.
"You had your own apple all along!?"
"Red apples taste better."
"Grrr!"
"Well, it's time for the mission Sasuke. I'll tell you what we have to do."
"I don't care," Sasuke turned away.
"We've been asked to pick red apples from the trees in the local orchard"
"Will they let us keep some?" Sasuke tried to look uninterested.
"The owner said we could."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
If Konoha doesn't have an orchard, it does now.
